Ian Cameron is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Carleton University, affiliated with the Department of Greek and Roman Studies and the College of the Humanities. He has been a long-standing member of the academic community at Carleton since 1967, contributing significantly to the English department and the development of interdisciplinary programs.
His educational background includes a B.A. (Hons) and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, complemented by advanced study at Harvard Divinity School through a Rockefeller Foundation fellowship.
Dr. Cameron's research centers on Shakespeare, seventeenth-century English prose, and the interplay between religion, politics, and literature. He has also explored visual arts, particularly the works of Titian, Rubens, and Van Dyck, in relation to literary and political contexts. His scholarly focus extends to rhetoric and propaganda, especially in the context of the English Civil War.
