Dr Ian Bryan is a Senior Lecturer in the Law School at Lancaster University, part of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). He has held roles including Director of LLB Examinations, Director of Admissions, and external examiner for various institutions. Bryan completed his undergraduate/postgraduate studies and PhD research at the University of Warwick before joining Lancaster in 1994. His teaching focuses on Criminal Law, Evidence Law, and Human Rights, while his research explores legal theory, criminal justice administration, and human rights. Notable works include his 1997 book on interrogation practices and co-edited volumes on Kelsen's legal philosophy. He actively participates in interdisciplinary conferences and serves on academic councils, mentoring early-career scholars.
