Iakovos Nomikos

Iakovos Nomikos is a Visiting Assistant Professor in General Surgery at the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds editorial roles as Editor-in-Chief of the Hellenic Journal of Surgery and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of International Surgery and Surgical Procedures. His academic career includes roles as Director of Surgery at the METAXA Cancer Hospital (2004–2018) and Deputy Director of Surgery at Tzanion General Hospital (1987–2004). He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS, 1990) and has been internationally recognized in Marquis Who's Who listings.

Dr. Nomikos' academic qualifications include an MD (1975) and PhD (1980) from the University of Athens Medical School, with doctoral research focused on peritoneal lavage in diffuse peritonitis.
