Matthew E. Kutcher, MD, MS, is a board-certified surgeon and intensivist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), Mississippi's only Level One trauma center. He serves as co-director of the surgical intensive care unit and associate program director of UMMC's surgical critical care fellowship. His NIH-funded research focuses on coagulation abnormalities in trauma and critical illness, particularly the role of innate immune mediators in platelet and fibrinolytic dysfunction.
