IHADDADENE Florence

Florence Ihaddadene is a Lecturer in Educational Sciences and Sociology at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV), where she is affiliated with the CURAPP-ESS laboratory and also holds an associate researcher position at IDHE·S. Her academic work bridges teaching, research, and public engagement, with a strong focus on youth, labor, and public policy in both metropolitan and overseas France.

Her research centers on the sociology of public policies for youth employment, volunteering, and popular education, with particular attention to overseas departments (Outre-mer), gender, precarity, and the boundaries between work and citizenship. She investigates how civic service programs like the Contrat d’Engagement Jeune (CEJ) and the Universal National Service shape youth integration and labor market trajectories.

Recent publications highlight her expertise in civic service, labor in non-profits, and social movements. Her work consistently employs qualitative methodologies and critical sociological analysis. She leads the DARES-funded project on CEJ and contributes to the ANR SciOutpost project on sub-Antarctic research stations, examining isolation and labor organization.
