Héloïse Cardinal is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at Université de Montréal, specializing in nephrology and transplantation. She holds the Shire Chair in Nephrology and Renal Transplantation and Regeneration.
Education includes medical training at Université de Sherbrooke, nephrology specialization at Université de Montréal, and a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University. Research focuses on:
- Vascular injury biomarkers in transplantation
- Immune mechanisms of graft rejection
- Anti-LG3 antibodies in transplant outcomes
Her research program characterizes novel biomarkers for predicting renal transplant complications and investigates vascular pathology in graft rejection. Recent work defines scleromyositis as a distinct clinical entity (2023) and establishes autoantibody-based subclassification of scleroderma-related myopathy (2022).
