Professor Hywel Morgan (MBE) is a leading academic at the University of Southampton, holding the Professor of Bioelectronics chair in the School of Electronics and Computer Science. His work bridges engineering and biomedical applications, with a focus on microfluidics, bio-sensors, and lab-on-a-chip technologies.
- Moved to Southampton from the University of Glasgow in 2003
- Deputy Head of School Research (2016–2022), overseeing REF 2020 submission
- Co-founder and Director of Verso Biosense and iFast Diagnostics
- Scientific advisor to Nuclera Nucleics and other companies
