Chengchen Zhang

Dr. Chengchen Zhang is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Digital Health & Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southampton, UK. She holds visiting scholar roles at UNSW and the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on developing therapeutic and biosensing platforms via interdisciplinary approaches in pharmaceutical science, materials engineering, and computational methods. She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles in journals like ACS Nano and Advanced Functional Materials.

Education & Employment: PhD in Chemical & Biomedical Engineering (UNSW Sydney, 2022), Postdoctoral Researcher (UNSW Sydney, 2022–2023). Current roles include Associate Editor of Health Nanotechnology and Review Editor for Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology.

Labs & Collaborations: Member of the Digital Health & Biomedical Engineering group, Microbiology Institute, and NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre. Active in projects like liquid metal-based biosensing and energy harvesters.
