Professor Lindy Holden-Dye is a Professor of Neurosciences at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on neuropharmacology, invertebrate neuroscience, and nematode neurobiology, with a particular emphasis on C. elegans and behavioural plasticity. She leads multiple interdisciplinary research projects funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and industry partners like Bayer Animal Health GmbH.
Key affiliations include the Plants and Food Security group, Precision Biosciences Innovation Hub, and the Institute for Life Sciences. Her work spans drug discovery for parasitic nematodes, neural network analysis via microfluidic sensors, and the genetic basis of inhibition. She holds fellowships from the Royal Society of Biology and the British Pharmacological Society.
Recent research projects include 'NeuroChip: A microfluidic sensor for electrophysiological recording of a nematode neural network' and 'An integrated strategy for control of animal and plant parasitic nematodes'. She has collaborated with researchers like Prof. Vincent O'Connor and Prof. Hywel Morgan on host plant invasion neurobiology and optical activation studies in C. elegans.
