Dr. Hye Min Oh is a feminist scholar, writer, filmmaker, and educator currently serving as a Post-doctoral Fellow at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (April 2025 - March 2026). She previously worked as a Lecturer at Korea National University of Arts in Seoul from September 2019 to February 2025. Her academic affiliations include the Faculty of Humanities at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, where she is part of the Department of Asian and Oriental Studies with a focus on Korean Studies.
Dr. Oh holds a PhD in Women's Studies from Ewha Women's University in Seoul (2024), an MA in Gender and Diversity from Freie Universität Berlin (2014), and a BA in Sociology/Women's Studies/Multimedia from Ewha Women's University (2008).
Her research focuses on feminist theory, gender studies, and epistemic vulnerability in the context of Korean feminism. Dr. Oh examines the impact of feminism and anti-feminism backlash on the younger generation, feminist pedagogy in educational environments characterized by acceptance and resistance, and the phenomenon of alternative knowledge replacing established facts. She has developed educational content and published academic papers and books on these topics.
Dr. Oh's publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on feminist theory, pedagogy, and Korean feminist movements. Her work spans from classroom dynamics to broader societal issues like national identity construction, transnational encounters, and the impact of alternative knowledge on reality. She has published in journals such as Women's Studies Review, Memory & Vision, and Gender and Culture.

Dr. Oh has extensive experience teaching mandatory feminist courses at the Korea National University of Arts for six years following the #MeToo movement in the arts sector. She has participated in numerous projects to develop educational content. Her current research at Tübingen focuses on responses to alternative knowledge from a transnational perspective, with particular attention to resilience and institutionalization.
