Young Kyun Oh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chinese within the School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University. His research focuses on Sino-Korean cultural connections, the history of books and print culture in East Asia, and historical linguistics. He holds a Ph.D. in Chinese linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in philosophy from Sogang University, Seoul.
Dr. Oh's work examines how cultural exchange is mediated through language, books, and other media. His notable publication, *Engraving Virtue: The Print History of a Premodern Moral Primer* (2013), explores the dissemination of Confucian ethics in Korea via printed texts. Current projects include the cultural history of books in Korea and the spread of encyclopedic knowledge in East Asia.
His service roles include membership in the Center for Asian Research Executive Committee and the ASU Chinese Language Flagship Program. He teaches courses on Chinese language, history, and cultural studies.
