Dr. Hussien Elkholy holds dual academic appointments as a Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), and Professor of Psychiatry at Ain Shams University, Egypt. His work bridges UK and Egyptian psychiatric academia with significant contributions to clinical practice and research.
Dr. Elkholy's educational foundation includes:

- Master's Degree in Neurology and Psychiatry (MSc) from Ain Shams University

His research concentrates on three core areas: Addictive Behaviours (including tobacco cessation), Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Adults, and Women Mental Health. This focus stems from over 15 years of clinical experience in general adult psychiatry, resulting in more than 45 scholarly publications that address critical gaps in these specialized domains.
Dr. Elkholy maintains active editorial and organizational leadership through his role as Deputy Editor of the British Journal of Psychiatry International and service on multiple journal editorial boards. His international influence is demonstrated by chairing the World Psychiatric Association's Addiction Psychiatry Section and holding key positions in the Royal College of Psychiatrists and International Society of Addiction Medicine.
