Hunter Noble

Hunter Noble serves as the Forest Manager of Whittell Forest & Wildlife Area and holds the academic rank of Researcher in the Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Science at the University of Nevada, Reno. His work bridges applied forest research, public outreach, and land management.

Education: B.S. in Forestry and Natural Resources (UC Berkeley, 2018); Master of Forestry (UC Berkeley, 2019).

Research focuses on replicating historic disturbance regimes in Sierra Nevada forests to enhance climate resilience, integrating prescribed fire (pyrosilviculture) as a management tool, and balancing ecological needs with stakeholder objectives. He emphasizes forests as 'living laboratories' for education and community engagement.

Previously, he worked at Blodgett Forest Research Station, the Bisbing Lab, and the Sierra Nevada Adaptive Management Project, supervising field crews and implementing experimental treatments.
