Dr Huiyun Du is a Casual Academic and Adjunct Professor at Flinders University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences, working part-time (Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays). She holds qualifications including a Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) and a PhD, and is a Registered Nurse. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary cardiovascular studies, particularly cardiac rehabilitation and self-management strategies for chronic heart failure patients. She contributes to clinical research and addresses healthcare challenges in rural settings through innovative telehealth solutions.
Research Interests: Cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular disease management, chronic condition self-management, and clinical research methodologies.
Affiliations: Member of Australian Cardiovascular Health & Rehabilitation Association, American Heart Association, Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and Australian College of Nursing. She actively participates in the NHMRC Country Heart Attack Prevention (CHAP) Partnership Project, aiming to improve cardiac rehabilitation access for rural patients.
Teaching Roles: Topic coordinator for NURS9220 (Literature Review), NURS2006 (Clinical Governance), and lecturer for multiple nursing courses including research design and primary healthcare.
Research Contributions: Leads studies on digital health interventions, such as avatar-based education apps and web-based platforms to enhance patient knowledge and care engagement. Her work emphasizes co-design methodologies with patients and clinicians to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes.
