Huilin Chen

Huilin Chen is an Honorary Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Science and Engineering, associated with the Isotope Research group. He also holds a Professor position at Nanjing University. His research focuses on atmospheric measurements of greenhouse gases, Lagrangian Particle Dispersion Models, and stratospheric processes. Chen completed his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Physics at the Max Planck Institute and Tsinghua University, with earlier degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China.

His work emphasizes innovative methods for tracking methane and carbon dioxide emissions using drones and advanced models. Recent publications highlight contributions to methane emission quantification, stratospheric CO isotopic analysis, and greenhouse gas inversion modeling. Collaborations span global institutions, addressing climate change through isotopic and observational approaches.
