Hui (Cathy) Liu is a Professor of Sociology at Purdue University and Director of the Center on Aging and the Life Course. Her research focuses on aging and life course perspectives, particularly the social determinants of population health and family processes affecting health outcomes.
- Education: B.A. and M.A. in Economics (Nankai University), M.S. in Statistics, Ph.D. in Sociology and Demography (University of Texas at Austin)
- Prior affiliation: Professor of Sociology and founding director of the Family and Population Health Laboratory at Michigan State University
Research emphasizes vulnerable populations, including older adults and sexual/gender minorities. She currently serves on the NIH Social Sciences and Population Studies (SSPB) study section.
