Dr. Huda Dawood is an Associate Professor of Research in the Department of Engineering at Teesside University's School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies (SCEDT). She holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Measurement and Control. Her research focuses on energy optimization, smart grids, sustainable building design, and AI-driven predictive control. Dr. Dawood leads multiple high-impact projects, including the EU-funded inteGRIDy initiative, where she oversees regulatory compliance and environmental impact assessments. She also contributes to the SMEmPower Efficiency framework and the Transforming Construction Network Plus.

- Research Interests: Data analytics, machine learning, deep learning for optimization; mathematical modeling of dynamic processes using neural networks; adaptive statistical process control.
Her recent publications span energy-efficient semiconductor design, offshore wind turbine control systems, and decarbonization frameworks for industrial clusters. She supervises seven PhD students and teaches courses in engineering mathematics, process monitoring, and mathematical modeling. Dr. Dawood actively promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion through her role in the Northern Power project and the SCEDT Athena Swan subgroup.
