Dr. Chris Ogwumike is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies (SCEDT), Teesside University. He holds a BEng from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (2006), an MSc in IT Management from Teesside University (2010), and a PhD in Smart Grid Decision Support Systems (2018). His research focuses on energy efficiency, smart grids, and industrial decarbonization. He has contributed to EU-funded projects like inteGRIDy and IDRIC, exploring renewable integration and techno-economic evaluations. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and serves as a guest editor for energy efficiency journals.

Publications emphasize frameworks for energy retrofitting, cost-effectiveness of smart solutions, and hypersonic vehicle control systems. Over 15 peer-reviewed articles since 2013, with a focus on applied energy systems and policy.
