Huda Badri is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Division of Immunology, Immunity to Infection and Respiratory Medicine. She holds qualifications including MBChB, MRCP, Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, and an Advanced Diploma in Occupational Medicine.
Her research focuses on chronic cough mechanisms, pharmacological interventions, and clinical trial methodologies. Key areas include GABA B receptor mechanisms, lesogaberan efficacy, and patient-reported outcomes in refractory cough. Her work bridges clinical practice and drug development, with a focus on respiratory medicine and asthma management.
Recent studies include a 2024 review on baclofen’s role in cough treatment, a 2023 analysis of chronic cough endotypes, and a 2022 trial on lesogaberan’s impact on cough frequency. Collaborations span international teams and multidisciplinary approaches to cough pathophysiology.
Her PhD thesis (2018) explored Gamma Aminobutyric Acid B Receptor mechanisms in chronic cough, supervised by Professors Houghton and Smith. This foundational work underpins her subsequent clinical and translational research.
