Huber-Humer, Marion

Professor Marion Huber-Humer is a faculty member at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), holding the academic rank of Univ.Prof. (University Professor). She serves as the head of the Institute for Waste and Circular Economy within the Department of Water, Atmosphere and Environment. Her work focuses on waste management systems, landfill gas emissions, and environmental engineering, with a global perspective on recycling challenges and solutions.

In 2008, she co-authored a study on vegetation succession on landfill covers, analyzing how different materials like compost and gravel affect ecosystem development. She delivered her inaugural lecture on "Waste Management - Tasks with a Global Dimension" in 2013, coinciding with the 20th anniversary celebration of the Institute of Waste Management at BOKU. Her research emphasizes sustainable landfill covers and the ecological impacts of waste disposal.
