Anna Elisabeth Spindlegger

Anna Elisabeth Spindlegger is a researcher at the Institute of Waste Management and Circularity at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Her work focuses on sustainability-by-design approaches for energy storage systems, lithium-ion battery recycling, and ecological life cycle assessments.

She is actively involved in several research projects funded by national institutions and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), including studies on hybrid electrochromic materials, safe recycling processes for traction batteries, and risk assessments for lithium-ion batteries. Her recent presentations at international conferences, such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Abfallwirtschaft-Wissenschaftskongress 2025 and SETAC Europe 2025, highlight her contributions to battery sustainability and circular economy frameworks.
