Huanqing Ye

Dr. Huanqing Ye is a Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at The University of Manchester, part of the School of Engineering. He leads research in photonics engineering, material science, and quantum technologies. His expertise includes photonic materials, organic/hybrid silicon lasers, and efficiency breakthroughs in photovoltaics. He holds a PhD in Physics from Queen Mary University of London (2014) and has held roles at Nanyang Technological University and Chromosol Ltd. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy and industry/innovation.

Research interests focus on quantum photonic technologies, organic/silicon photonics, and molecular physics. Recent projects involve developing handheld quantum devices and next-generation data interconnections. He collaborates internationally with universities and industrial partners, emphasizing interdisciplinary innovation.
