Huann-shyang Lin is a Professor in the School of Education at the Faculty of Education and Arts. His research focuses on science education, STEM education, and inquiry-based learning, with a particular emphasis on student engagement, teacher professional development, and the psychological aspects of learning. He has contributed extensively to understanding how educational interventions can enhance scientific literacy, critical thinking, and interest in science among K-12 students and college learners.
His work explores topics such as the effects of structured inquiry, the role of epistemological beliefs in scientific literacy, and the impact of museum-based learning on environmental attitudes. Lin has collaborated with institutions to design teaching models (e.g., the GAME pedagogical model) and interventions targeting at-risk student populations. His research also bridges disciplines, addressing how scientific interest intersects with psychological well-being and sustainability attitudes in adult populations.
Key contributions include studies on teacher competencies in fair testing practices, the efficacy of aesthetic science activities for at-risk youth, and longitudinal analyses of socio-scientific issue interventions. Lin’s publications span journals in science education, psychology, and environmental studies, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to advancing STEM education and public engagement with science.
