Hu Ying

Professor Hu Ying, born in 1934, is a renowned Chinese scholar at the East China University of Science and Technology. A member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (elected 1993), he has served as doctoral supervisor, professor, and held leadership roles including Head of the Department of Chemistry and Director of the Physical Chemistry Teaching and Research Section. His career spans over seven decades, with significant contributions to chemical engineering, molecular thermodynamics, and educational reform.

He received numerous accolades, including the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Special Award (1998), Shanghai Education Meritorious Contributor (2008), and the 2021 National Advanced Individual in Textbook Construction. His works include over 350 academic papers and monographs such as 'Molecular Thermodynamics of Fluids' and 'Density Functional Theory'.
