Tian He

Tian He is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, East China University of Science and Technology. An academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (elected 2011) and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS, 2013), he serves as vice president of the Chinese Chemical Society and was chief scientist of the National "973" Program.

He has established internationally recognized expertise in these fields, maintaining status as a "Highly Cited Researcher" in chemistry and materials science for five consecutive years through Thomson Reuters recognition.

His major scientific awards include the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize, 2000), National Natural Science Award (Second Prize, 2007), Shanghai Science and Technology Meritorious Service Award (2019), and National May 1st Labor Medal (2011). Additional distinctions encompass National Outstanding Teacher (1998) and National Advanced Worker (2020) honors.

As a doctoral supervisor, he has mentored numerous graduate students. He secured over 60 Chinese invention patents and served as chief scientist of the National "973" Program. Currently, he holds editorial positions as Associate Editor-in-Chief for ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces and SCIENCE CHINA Chemistry, while serving on boards for Chemical Science and Advanced Optical Materials.
