Hu Zuohao is a Professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Marketing at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management. He serves as Vice President of the China Association of Marketing Research and Executive Deputy Director of the China Enterprise Research Center at the university.
His research focuses on Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, International Marketing of Chinese Brands, and Brand Strategy. With over 60 publications in leading academic journals, Professor Hu specializes in bridging traditional marketing theories with contemporary Chinese business practices in the digital era.
His recent work includes the authoritative textbook Marketing Management: The Engine of Change and Growth (2025), which integrates century-old marketing principles with cutting-edge Chinese corporate innovations. The book features comprehensive coverage of digital marketing elements across all 16 chapters, with special focus on Chinese company cases and marketing ethics.

Professor Hu has developed 18 teaching cases, two of which are featured on the Harvard Business School Case Platform. He has been teaching marketing management courses to MBA students at Tsinghua since 2001 and recently led a team of 10 marketing scholars from nine Chinese universities in creating a nationally-focused marketing textbook tailored to Chinese context.
