Dr. Hsin-Hui Shen is an Associate Professor and NHMRC Career Development Fellow at Monash University's Department of Materials Science and Engineering, affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and the Biomedicine Discovery Institute. She holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oxford and has conducted postdoctoral research at CSIRO and Monash University. Her research focuses on biomaterials, drug delivery, antibiotic resistance, and neutron scattering, with applications in antibacterial therapies, ocular drug delivery, and cardiac protection. She leads projects on polymyxin-hexosome therapy, lipid nanoparticle design, and nanomaterials for combating superbugs.
Dr. Shen has secured grants including the NHMRC Career Development Fellowship and ARC Super Science Research Fellowship. Her work addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and innovation. Key collaborations involve institutions like CSIRO, ANSTO, and international research networks. She investigates lipid membrane interactions, nanomaterial synthesis, and therapeutic strategies against antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
Research interests span antimicrobial peptide mechanisms, nanoparticle drug delivery, and advanced neutron scattering techniques. Recent publications explore deep eutectic solvents for batteries, nanorobots for kidney injury, and mRNA delivery for fibrosis. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges materials science, biomedicine, and engineering to address global health challenges.
