Howard Berry is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Post-Production for Film and Television degrees at the University of Hertfordshire's School of Creative Arts. He leads the MA Film Production and MA Screenwriting programmes. His teaching focuses on editing, archiving, colour grading, and post-production workflows, earning him the 2011 Vice-Chancellor's Tutor of the Year Award.

Research interests center on film heritage, Stanley Kubrick's methodologies, and Elstree/Borehamwood studios. He co-created the Elstree Project, conducting over 70 oral histories leading to the acclaimed documentary Staircases to Nowhere: Making Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. He collaborates with film editor Walter Murch on documentaries about cinematic tools.
Key projects include the ongoing Elstree Project (2010–present) and a study on ATV/ITC's 1960s-1980s output. External roles include validation panel membership at London South Bank University.
