Hossain Ahmed

Hossain Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at Austin Peay State University (APSU), joining in Fall 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical & Energy Engineering from the University of North Texas, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lamar University, and a B.S. from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET). His research focuses on corrosion mechanisms in microchannel heat exchangers, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and structural health monitoring of engineering systems. Additionally, he explores sustainability in Industry 4.0 manufacturing and engineering education reform. Dr. Ahmed has seven years of industry experience in power generation and six years of teaching experience at the university level.

Research highlights include numerical studies on thermal performance optimization of microchannel heat exchangers and corrosion risk assessment. His work spans interdisciplinary topics such as material degradation analysis and project-based learning methodologies in engineering education.
