Dr. Ahmed Al-Zubaydi is a Lecturer at the School of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He holds a PhD in Engineering from UTS (2020) and is affiliated with professional societies including ASME, ASHRAE, CIBSE, and ausSCIG.
- PhD in Engineering, UTS (2020)
His research focuses on energy-efficient cooling systems, sustainable building design, and thermal engineering. Key areas include indirect evaporative cooling, heat exchanger optimization, and solar thermal cooling. He has explored energy recovery ventilation, night sky radiation, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
Recent publications emphasize improving cooling system efficiency through novel water spray configurations and CFD modeling of heat exchangers. He has contributed to studies on building energy simulation and hybrid cooling technologies.
- 2017: UTS FEIT Technology Research Showcase People’s Choice Prize
At UTS, he teaches courses in materials handling, manufacturing engineering, and air conditioning systems. He also developed the course "Materials and Manufacturing Engineering A" in 2022.
Current funded projects include research on calcined clay applications in lower-carbon concrete under the Smartcrete CRC initiative (2023–2025).
