Hora Soltani is a Professor in Maternal and Infant Health at the Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) School of Health and Social Care. With over 25 years of experience, she leads the Maternal and Infant Health Research Group (MIHRG) and has shaped national/international maternity care policies through systemic reviews, cohort studies, and community-engaged research.

Her research focuses on health disparities in maternal nutrition, perinatal mental health, postpartum hemorrhage, and maternity care organization, particularly for migrant women. She has led 17+ major projects funded by MRC, EU, WHO, and NHS, including ORAMMA (European migrant maternal care), DigiCP (digital PMH pathways), and MOMTech (mobile maternal obesity solutions).
Key scientific honors include Elsevier top 2% cited scientist (2020-2023), MBE, and Fellowship of Royal College of Midwives. She has supervised 5+ doctoral students and served as Co-Section Editor for BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, while her work on midwife continuity of care generated 32+ global media cuttings and 9.3M circulation press coverage.
