Hoon Lee is an Associate Professor and Ceramics program coordinator at Grand Valley State University's Department of Visual & Media Arts. He holds an MFA in Ceramic Art from Alfred University and advanced degrees in Industrial Design and Ceramic Art from Seoul National University of Technology. His work has been featured in over 20 solo exhibitions and international residencies, including the World Ceramic Biennale Korea. Lee focuses on ceramics as a medium for conceptual exploration, blending technical mastery with thematic depth.

Recipient of the 2009 Contemporary Korean Ceramic Artists Award from Santiago Gallery, his work explores themes like identity and memory through installations such as Murmur, Murder, & Mother. He maintains an active studio practice with a focus on both traditional and experimental ceramic techniques.
