Denise Pelletier is the Roman and Tatiana Weller Professor of Art at Connecticut College, where she has taught since 2005 and chaired the Art Department since 2011. She holds a BFA from the University of Connecticut and MFA from Alfred University. Her research explores ceramics, sculpture, and site-specific art through innovative techniques including industrial production methods and experimental material applications.
Her artistic practice examines the cultural transformation of materials, with specialized expertise in:
- Ceramic sculpture and handbuilding
- Moldmaking and slipcasting systems
- Functional pottery and vessel construction
- Glaze chemistry and digital decal applications
