Honoria Starbuck is an Assistant Professor of Practice and Foundations Lead in the Art and Entertainment Technology Department at The University of Texas at Austin's College of Fine Arts. She holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Fine Arts, Communications, and Education from UT Austin. Her academic roles include teaching Design Foundations, Portfolio Development, and foundational art courses since 2009. Starbuck is also actively involved with SXSW as a Programming Committee member for Interactive and Education tracks.

Her research explores the intersection of art history, digital media, and pedagogy, with a focus on the Mail Art Network and internet-based creative practices. Starbuck's teaching philosophy emphasizes linking student interests (e.g., gaming, fashion) with historical and contemporary art trends. Her creative process combines traditional materials (ink, watercolor) with digital tools, reflecting her 15-year tai chi practice's meditative quality.
