Hong Li

Dr Hong Li is a Reader and Vice-Dean of the ManchesterMet-Hubei Joint Institute at Manchester Metropolitan University. He serves as Programme Director for all MSc Programmes in the Department of Engineering, International Lead for the School of Engineering, and Faculty Lead (China) for Internationalisation.

His research focuses on mechanical engineering domains, including vibration and control systems, materials science, and sustainable energy. He has contributed to cyber-physical systems and advanced manufacturing, as reflected in university research themes.

Dr Li has received multiple scientific awards, including the 2024 International Impact Award at Manchester Metropolitan University, the 2008 John Jarrett Davis Prize for Best Paper from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and the 2001 ICI Best Paper Prize from the Institution of Measurement and Control.
