Hon Ki Cheung is an Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the University of Texas at Austin, affiliated with the College of Fine Arts and the Department of Music’s Theory Division. Their research explores modern Chinese and Western influences on music pedagogy, composition, and cultural identity in 20th-21st century Chinese instrumental music. They also investigate diversity discourse in U.S. musical institutions’ concert programming.
