Gao Hong, Senior Lecturer in Chinese Musical Instruments at Carleton College, is a master pipa performer and composer. She directs the Carleton Chinese Music Ensemble and teaches courses on Chinese musical instruments and chamber music. Her career spans prestigious performances worldwide and collaborations across musical genres.

Research and Creative Work: Gao specializes in traditional Chinese music, particularly the pipa, and explores cross-cultural fusion through compositions and performances. She has composed for diverse ensembles, including symphony orchestras, jazz musicians, and international collaborators.
