Dr. Holly White is Head of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Chester, specializing in social harm, co-production methodologies, and participatory research with marginalized communities. She holds a PhD in Criminology from Edge Hill University, an MBA from the University of Chester, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Her research examines structural inequality through frameworks like zemiology (social harm studies) and agnotology (ignorance production), with current collaborations including the Local Voices Framework facilitating cross-sector co-production in Cheshire. Funded projects include AHRC-supported investigations into Belgian refugees during WWI and evaluations of food insecurity interventions for Feeding Britain.
White maintains active community engagement as a trustee of Cheshire West Voluntary Action and member of the Cheshire West and Chester Poverty Truth Advisory Board. Her publications analyze the narratives of poverty and crisis, with recent participatory research documenting lived experiences during the cost-of-living crisis.
