Holly Isard is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Geography at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Global Affairs within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She currently works on the 'Plumbing Poverty' project, led by Professor Katie Meehan, which examines water insecurity in Global North cities through interdisciplinary lenses.
Dr. Isard holds a PhD from the University of West London (Wellcome-Trust funded), where her thesis analyzed the political economy of pregnancy using a Marxist feminist framework. She is a member of the Gender, Work, Technology research cluster, a collaborative initiative between King's College London and the University of West London, led by Professor Helen Hester and Dr. Nick Srnicek.
Her research interests include social reproduction theory, urban political ecology, and the intersection of racial capitalism with environmental governance. She employs ethnographic and census-based methodologies to address systemic inequalities in resource distribution.
