Juncheng Lyu is a PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of International Development at King's College London. He is affiliated with the School of Global Affairs within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. His research focuses on China's state-led poverty reduction programs, regional inequality, and rural development in post-economic reform China.

Research Interests: Juncheng's work addresses poverty alleviation policies, multidimensional poverty reduction, and the economics of inequality. His doctoral thesis, funded by the King's-China Scholarship Council (K-CSC) Joint PhD Scholarship Programme, analyzes the East-West partnership program's impact on sub-provincial inequality and poverty reduction in China. His mixed-method approach combines econometrics with qualitative analysis.
Advising & Grants: His PhD is fully funded by the K-CSC scholarship. Supervisors include Dr. Paul Segal (Principal) and Dr. Charlotte Goodburn.
