Harriet Aldrich is a Research Fellow at the Ax:son Johnson Institute for Statecraft and Diplomacy within the Centre for Grand Strategy at King's College London. She holds affiliations with the Department of War Studies (Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy). Her research focuses on global dynamics in African and British history, particularly exile, migration, and transnational political networks.

Her work examines how exiled leaders from the Global South influenced British foreign policy (1960s–2000s) and explores connections between exile communities and national identity formation. She emphasizes integrating marginalized voices into historical narratives.
Publications include analyses of Idi Amin's Ugandan coup, Commonwealth responses to apartheid, and transnational networks of Ghanaian exiles. She has contributed to Palgrave Macmillan's volume on Commonwealth history.
