Holly Cashman is a Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures and core faculty member in Women's and Gender Studies at the University of New Hampshire. She serves as Chair of LLC and Co-coordinator of Queer Studies, focusing on Spanish in the U.S., bilingual interaction, and queer linguistics. Her research examines how language shapes and reflects identities in LGBTQ+ Latinx communities.

Her work appears in journals like Language in Society and Gender & Language, with a 2018 book shortlisted for the BAAL book prize. Current projects include a co-authored Oxford monograph on code-switching. She has received multiple awards including the Kidder Award (2019) and Pink Triangle Award (2013-2014) for LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Recent publications emphasize multilingualism, queer identity negotiation, and the intersection of language with power dynamics. She actively promotes inclusive pedagogy and serves as co-editor of the Cambridge Elements series on Language, Gender and Sexuality. Her teaching includes Spanish language courses, sociolinguistics, and LGBTQ+ studies.
