Hipólito Talbot-Wright

Hipólito Talbot-Wright serves as a Senior Policy Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), working within the Stern team on international climate action and finance. He leads a global programme supporting finance ministries in enhancing economic analysis and modelling for climate action through the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action.

• Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Pompeu Fabra University

Research Focus: His work bridges climate policy and public finance, specializing in fiscal implications of climate strategies, climate finance mechanisms, and economic modelling for sustainable development. He investigates how finance ministries can integrate climate considerations into budgetary processes and fiscal planning, with emphasis on policy evaluation and global financial systems reform.

Professional Engagement: Previously at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Climate Change Division, he supported the LAC Regional Climate Change Platform and Chilean operations while producing key climate strategy knowledge products. Earlier, he advised Chile’s Ministry of Finance (DIPRES) on climate policy fiscal impacts. His current work directly influences economic decision-makers across finance ministries globally.
