Hildy J. Teegen is the USC Education Foundation Chaired Professor in International Business at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. She previously served as Dean of the school (2007–2013) and previously directed George Washington University’s Center for International Business Education and Research. Her academic career spans over three decades, including roles at institutions such as The George Washington University, The College of William & Mary, and several universities in Latin America.
Educated at the University of Texas at Austin, she holds a Ph.D. in International Business (1993) and dual bachelor’s degrees in Latin American Studies and International Business & Finance (1987). Her research focuses on NGOs, cross-sector negotiations, Latin American business policy, and corporate reputation. She has authored/co-authored books and over 50 peer-reviewed articles, with key contributions in journals like Journal of International Business Studies and Organization Science.
Teegen’s teaching expertise includes international business negotiation and global strategy. She has held leadership roles in academic organizations, including co-authoring AACSB’s Globalization of Management Education report. Recognized for her service, she received the GW School of Business Dean’s Scholar Award (2006–2007) and the Best Reviewer Award (2005). She currently serves on corporate boards, including Cox Industries and Premo Ventures, and is a Liberty Fellow and member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

- Publications: Over 50 articles and edited volumes on topics like economic sanctions, privatization, and multinational enterprise strategies.

Her recent initiatives include co-founding HarborGood, a platform for in-kind philanthropy, and leading executive education programs on global competitiveness and cluster strategies.
