Hilary Wilder is an Associate Professor in the Department of Painting + Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her artistic practice spans painting, sculpture, video, and installation media.

Wilder's work has been exhibited at prestigious institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. She has held solo exhibitions at The Suburban (Illinois), Open Satellite, Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, and Devin Borden Gallery (Houston). Research interests include interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary art, blending traditional painting techniques with new media forms such as video and installation.
