Dr. Hilary Qualter is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at Maynooth University's School of Business, specializing in taxation education and research. She holds a PhD from the National University of Ireland, Galway, focusing on tax policy development. Her research examines taxation as a social and institutional practice, analyzing stakeholder perspectives and interactions in policy-making.
Education: B.Comm (National University of Ireland, Galway); PhD in Tax Policy Development (NUI Galway). Professional qualifications: Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland since 2001, with prior work experience at Deloitte and in the financial services sector.
Research Interests: Tax policy formulation processes, public participation mechanisms, institutional tax practices, and the interplay between tax theory and real-world applications. Her work emphasizes stakeholder engagement in tax governance.
