Gail Sheppard is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and the Society & Public Policy research lead at Maynooth University's School of Business. She previously held roles as Programme Director for Arts Team Accounting and BCL Law and Accounting at Maynooth, and as a Lecturer in Accounting at TU Dublin. Her research focuses on public resource management, including Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in Ireland and pandemic crisis management. She has authored a textbook on Management Accounting and contributed to peer-reviewed journals such as Risk Analysis and Journal of Accounting and Public Policy.
Education: MSc (DCU), PhD (University College Cork). Awards include the Institute of Technology, Tallaght President's Research Scholarship (2016, 2017).
Her recent project, 'Review of Open Research in Health Ecosystems' (ROCHE), explores open research policies in healthcare innovation. She has presented at conferences including the European Accounting Association and Irish Academy of Management. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and served as a Council Member of the Irish Accounting and Finance Association.
