Hilary Jones is a Lecturer in Voice and Voice for Media at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Centre for Voice in Performance (CViP). She has taught at major UK drama schools, including the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Her expertise spans accents/dialects, Voice for Media, and performance stress management. She coaches the BBC Carleton Hobbs Radio Drama Competition and developed the MEDEA website for actor dialect training.
Education: BA, IPA Certification, TESOL qualification. Research interests include EMDR’s application in voice work and performance stress, presented at conferences like the British Voice Association. Current projects include the Erasmus-funded Change-Now! initiative and a 2023 paper on Intimacy Coordination.
International work includes workshops in Amsterdam, Warsaw, and Turkey, alongside roles as a voice coach for Teatro Biuro Podrozy in Poland and dialect coaching for films like The Wife (Golden Globe-winning) and upcoming HBO Max projects. She has contributed to high-profile TV/film productions, including Case Histories (BBC) and Love, Sex, Money (BBC Radio 4).
