Hilary Brewster is a Professor in the Department of English at Marshall University, where she teaches courses on Young Adult Literature and English Education methods. She also serves as the Director of the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and is the Faculty in Residence for First Year South Residence Hall.

Her research focuses on narrative and critical theory, with a specialization in YA literature and women’s studies. She has contributed to publications on The Hunger Games film adaptation and Harry Potter translations, and has presented at conferences including NCTE, MMLA, PCA, and the International Society for the Study of Narrative.
She is actively involved in community engagement through volunteering at The Wild Ramp and CONTACT Rape Crisis Center, and has helped organize events such as Take Back the Night and BodyShots.
