Hidayet Mazi is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Gaziantep University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He has held academic positions since 2007, advancing from Assistant Professor (2007-2015) to Associate Professor (2015-2024) and Professor (2024-present). His primary research focuses on Polymer Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Enzyme Immobilization, with significant contributions to controlled drug release, superabsorbent materials, and analytical applications of polymers.
- Education:
- PhD in Chemistry (2000-2006), Hacettepe University
- MSc in Chemistry (1998-2000), Hacettepe University
- BSc in Chemistry (1993-1998), Hacettepe University
His research spans stimuli-responsive polymers (pH/temperature-sensitive nanogels and hydrogels), enzyme immobilization techniques for food analysis, metal-polymer complexes, and additive manufacturing of biodegradable composites. Articles highlight trends in polymer-drug interactions, environmental monitoring, and green synthesis.
As a principal investigator, he has managed 9 research projects on topics like antibacterial nanofibers, superabsorbent polymers, and molecularly imprinted odor removal methods. He holds a national patent (2024) for odor compound removal using molecularly imprinted polymers and has served as an editor for the Journal of Analytical Chromatography and Spectroscopy (2020).
